Hosting the Timber Trades’ Benevolent Society’s recent board of management meeting gave the north-east region committee members the opportunity to present a cheque for £2,000 in person.

The meeting, held at Northumberland Golf Club in Newcastle upon Tyne, was attended by members from across the UK who were all welcomed to the region by Robert Bruce on behalf of the committee.

The meeting was chaired by national vice-president Malcolm Cowley, deputising for the president Dilwyn Howells who was climbing Monte Rosa, Switzerland’s highest mountain, and raising funds for the TTBS. The agenda included a report on the recent National Golf Day at Dalmahoy, forthcoming events, reports from the districts, applications and recent donations.
