A 74-bedroom nursing home, Manor House Wickham, near Gateshead, has been completed using a package of attic trusses and other prefabrictated roof components made by Truss-Tech, of Mansfield.

GeTech Timber Engineering took responsibility for designing the roof and managing the site installation phase.

GeTEch’s George Simpson said the use of attic trusses in one part of the building enabled the creation of separate staff accommodation.

The main roof trusses span 14m at a 300 pitch where they covered single storey areas. Taller 13.5m span trusses were delivered separately as room space.
