A growing partnership has developed between Silent Floor System supplier Trus Joist and David Wilson Homes, with floor designs so far created for 60 different house styles for use by the housebuilder nationally.

David Wilson’s design department is working closely with Trus Joist’s technical team to make an integrated floor and superstructure purpose-designed for each house type, leading to improvements in building efficiency and quality, it says.

The housebuilder says a 600mm-wide duct, developed in partnership with Trus Joist, has been introduced in flooring under bathrooms to help plumbers transport waste to soil pipes.

It says another advantage of using Silent Floor is a reduced need to use steel beams, which means cutting down on the number of suppliers needed, making ordering easier and cheaper.

Trus Joist is sole supplier of engineered timber floor solutions to David Wilson.
