The Stop Burning Our Trees campaign, which is opposed to subsidies for large-scale power generators to switch to biomass fuels, including wood, has labelled trees around London to raise awareness of the issues.

The campaign is organised by the Wood Panel Industries Federation (WPIF), which says that the increase in wood fuel consumption by power companies threatens its members’ raw material supply. It has grown out of the organisation’s Make Wood Work lobbying effort on the same issue, which targets decision makers in business and government.

Stop Burning Our Trees launched this Monday with a display of giant jenga sets in London’s Victoria rail station. It is also running a poster campaign on the city’s buses and underground.
