TRADA‘s campaign to retain and develop its corporate membership within the timber and construction industry has resulted in it being awarded a Membership Development Award 2004.

TRADA’s total membership grew to 1,274 last year, with new members making up 33%, reversing a 20-year downward trend.

The award, supported by the Institute of Association Management and others, was presented to TRADA chief executive Andrew Abbott at the institute’s annual dinner in London.

Judges praised TRADA for delivering real “must have” benefits which really mattered to members.

Mr Abbott said: “Our aim has always been to grow and maintain markets for timber. We now seek to do this in a way that gives a greater advantage to members versus non-members.”
