TRADA is sponsoring its first post-graduate student as part of its commitment to educational establishments specialising in timber engineering.
Parvez Alam will work with the University of Bath’s engineering research group as part of his PhD thesis.
TRADA Technology managing director Andrew Abbott said: ‘Support for education and fostering closer working relationships with universities are pivotal to the greater use of timber in engineering applications. The more young people with in-depth knowledge of the capabilities of our raw material and its composites, the more these will be specified in future.’
