There are many signs of a timber renaissance in the UK and TRADA is proud of its contribution to it, chairman John Perry told guests at the organisation’s 70th anniversary celebrations at the Cutty Sark.
Mr Perry thanked all members, past and present, for their interest and support, and TRADA staff for their “enthusiasm, hardwork and dedication”.
He also outlined TRADA’s evolution from its beginnings as the Timber Development Association through to last year’s launch of the askTRADA Knowledge Resource which he described as “a radical move, involving a significant investment of effort and funds”.
“TRADA continues to fund research into important aspects of timber in construction and the askTRADA website has boosted our ability to deploy information into the market to promote best practice and to connect users/specifiers with suppliers,” he said.
TRADA would continue “the cycle of self-reinvention” if it was required to command members’ interest and support, Mr Perry added.
