First Nation wood carvers from British Columbia are inviting locals in Dalbeattie, Scotland, to lend them a hand chiselling a giant totem pole for the community.
The carvers will work on the 35ft pole in the town until August 30. It will be raised in Dalbeattie Forest the following day.
Forestry Comission Scotland has supported the project and donated a Douglas fir tree for the pole.
