An online “toolbox” has been created to help land managers and foresters make effective decisions and strategies to involve people in woodland planning.

The resource, called “Involving People in Forestry: A Toolbox for Public Involvement in Forestry and Woodland Planning”, viewable at www.forestry.gov.uk/toolbox, has been published by the Forestry Commission and contains a range of downloadable toolsheets and other resources.

Author Max Hislop, of Forest Research, said: “There’s no right way to get people involved. Every forest and woodland is unique and capable of delivering a range of benefits to people to a greater or lesser extent.”
