The Gaerwen Arms in Anglesey used the BSW Timber product to build a decking area for smokers to retreat to, although Neil McGregor, the landlord, said that it has been enjoyed by a large number of the pub’s clientele.
“The Timeless Timber decking has improved the aesthetics of the pub and many of our customers have remarked how good the outdoor area looks now,” said Mr McGregor.
“The decking is also a welcome comfortable retreat for smokers following the ban.”
Many timber firms supplying shelters and decking have told TTJ that they expect the full impact of the smoking ban to be felt in the autumn, although BSW Timber said that it has seen a growth in interest in its Timeless Timber decking range as a direct result of the new laws.
