Home-grown oak, which had to be both aesthetically and structurally graded, was supplied by Timbmet for a new external staircase at the Tower of London.
Joinery manufacturer Jarvis Newman won the contract to supply the staircase which had to be handcrafted to ensure it was in keeping with the Tower’s architecture. It is suspended from cantilevered steel supports fixed into existing parapets with chemical bolts.
