A newly-created ‘one stop shop’ doorset business will benefit from a £1.5m investment programme.

Timbmet Door Solutions Ltd (TDSL) is a £13m turnover joint business venture formed from the recent merger of Timbmet Doors Ltd with M&V Woodcraft of Leicester. It also incorporates the acquisition of a specialist Leicester architectural ironmongery business.

A £1.5m 18,000ft2 production plant will be added later this year to Timbmet’s existing Mansfield facility, and will include a CNC machining centre and other equipment, creating a total of 24,000ft2 manufacturing space.

The business will continue to operate from its other existing bases in Oxford, Rochdale, Glasgow and Leicester. An office will also be opened in London.

Managing director of TDSL Frank Gallagher said the new concept had already won a “tremendous” amount of business. He said it cut out the need for architects and specifiers to deal with a host of companies regarding doors, frames and ironmongery.

The venture has its own range of architectural ironmongery products, while another newly-created business arm, Timbmet Architectural Hardware Ltd, can source all major UK ironmongery manufacturers’ products.

TDSL specialises in the supply of bespoke fire door and doorsets to the commercial, public, health, education and leisure sectors. It offers feasibility and design development right through to site survey and e-scheduling of jobs.
