“Considerable capital investment” at Timbmet Glasgow a year ago has resulted in a more than 30% improvement in production and a reduction in labour costs.

The company has won a variety of high profile contracts in recent months in the public sector, the commercial market, the tourist industry and one at a Historic Scotland Listed Building.

Timbmet Glasgow’s managing director Brett Tyler said: “Improvements in sales turnover and profitability are the result of the confidence of our main board in Glasgow.”

He said the company had seen a 30% increase in turnover during the last financial year compared with the previous year and substantial growth in profitability during the same period.

He added: “Additional manufacturing/handling equipment and storage facilities will further enhance the trading and efficiency of Timbmet Glasgow.

“All of this has boosted morale and attracted bigger customers. Modernisation has helped to realise the potential we knew Timbmet Glasgow had. Improvements in staff facilities and our fleet of vehicles have also helped. We are very pleased with the lucrative and varied range of work we are attracting.”
