The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust Visitor Centre, constructed by timber frame specialist Chignell Building Ltd, is situated on the Norfolk fens and has already won the Civic Trust Biodiversity Sustainability Award.
Chignell Building said that the use of timber for the centre was ideal as it is a “sustainable, durable solution which lends itself beautifully to the striking fenland landscape”.
It will now go through to the international final of the RICS Awards and compete againgst sustainable buildings from around the world.
