Timber traders are being asked to provide evidence of any late payment on central government contracts.

The Timber Trade Federation (TTF) is asking members to supply evidence after being contacted by the Construction Products Association (CPA), which wants the view of TTF members.

“The issue of fair payment continues to a problem for some manufacturers and suppliers of construction products on central government contracts, despite the government’s Fair Payment Charter, which stipulates that Tier 1 contractors must pay Tier 2 and 3 sub-contractors within 30 days,” said the CPA.

The CPA has designed a survey to assess the scale of the problem and provide evidence to the government.

The TTF said the CPA’s late payment survey can be completed up until December 16. To access the survey click on button on the right hand side.
