Redmire Stables & Building Ltd, which billed itself as one of the largest timber building manufacturers in the UK, has gone into liquidation.
The West Sussex-based timber horse box and stable manufacturer had struggled financially in the current economic climate and directors decided to cease trading in May and call in liquidators from RSM Tenon.
Equestrian magazine Horse & Hound has reported Redmire customers paying up to 50% on deposits on buildings before the business folded.
“At present we are unable to confirm the level of a dividend payable to creditors, if any,” an RSM Tenon spokesperson said.
Details of the asset sale are expected to be released shortly.
Redmire’s Five Oaks Sawmill site near Horsham also produced a wide range of non-equestrian wooden buildings, including home offices, garages, summerhouses, workshops, commercial showrooms and zoo buildings, as well as doors and windows.
The company was founded in 1995.
