Organisers of The Timber Show have reported a positive response from the industry just a month after launching the new concept event.

The show, a business-to-business exhibition dedicated to the timber trade, is due to be held in London in September 2006.

Exhibition director John Southam said: “We received our first e-mail requesting information about exhibiting before 10am on the day the initial anouncement was published in TTJ.”

Since then, he said enquiries from the UK and overseas have been increasing rapidly in response to direct mailing from the organisers, from supporting organisations and companies visiting the show website.

Mr Southam said: “Time and again we have been told that it is a much needed and exciting development – an exhibition that is focused solely on showcasing timber and timber products at a time of increasing interest in the material from the public and private construction sector, manufacturers and merchants.”

Organisers are finalising details for show seminars and other attractions, which will be announced early next year as part of an extensive marketing campaign designed to attract visitors, including architects, specifiers, builders, merchants and manufacturers.

The show is being supported by the Timber Trade Federation, UK Timber Frame Association, wood. for good, TIMBERweb and Canada Wood, all of which are promoting it to their members.

The ExCel centre will host the event on September 12-14. For details e-mail sales@thetimbershow.co.uk
