Cuxship Management GmbH, based at Cuxhaven near Hamburg, had earlier pleaded guilty to two safety breaches under merchant laws.
Newcastle Crown Court heard yesterday that no-one on the bridge of the MV Danio was awake and an alarm system was turned off when it ran aground on the Farne Islands on March 16, 2013.
The ship, which had been carrying 1,500 tonnes of logs from Perth to Antwerp, was stranded on rocks for nearly two weeks before finally being refloated.
Cuxship has ordered the bridge alarm to always be turned on in the future, while checks will ensure crew members have correct qualifications.
