Timber Resources International is in negotiations with several potential acquisition targets with a view to revitalising its wood business.

The company, which divested its non-strategic lumber manufacturing operations in 2001 to focus on developing computer services, wants to use its internet knowledge to construct a wood portal to buy and sell goods online.

Chairman and president Aziz Hirji said the firm was committed to wood products, including e-commerce transactions.

Mr Hirji said realistic growth targets will be pursued in the next 12-18 months.
