Covers Timber & Builders Merchants says it is reaping the benefits after installing solar panel systems on the roofs of six of its branches across southern England.
The Chichester-based merchant said it is also offering solar panels – Azur Solar Power Kits – to domestic customers.
“We have started reaping the benefit of reduced energy costs within our branches and have gone one stage further by marketing ‘AZUR SOLAR Power Kits’ to our customers through our newly remodelled Eco Centre,” said Rupert Green, the Director in charge of Sustainability at Covers.
“Working with our installation partners we have completed seven domestic installations, with many others in the pipeline.”
Covers stores which have had solar panel installations include Aldershot, Bognor, Gosport, and Portsmouth. Covers plan to install Solar PV on two more depots later in the year.
