Timber merchant falls foul of new smoking laws
Vincent McFadden, of Airth, Stirlingshire, was fined £450 for failing to put up no smoking signs at his premises, McFaddens Timber & Door Centre in Falkirk, which is accessible to the public.He was given an earlier warning that he had to put up the signs, but when enforcement officers returned to his shop and workshop, Mr McFadden told them he had been too busy. Mr McFadden was fined £125 for the offence, as well as a further £325 for a breach of the peace for failing to provide his name and address to an authorised officer.
