Timber windows have been used to add value to an exclusive housing development in Sevenoaks, Kent.

Local housebuilder Mapleton Homes has plumped for timber in two six-bedroom, five-bathroom houses in order to increase their aesthetic appeal and maximise the use of natural light in the properties.

This includes a two-storey arched window in one and a conservatory built from timber windows in the other, all supplied by Sheffield-based JELD-WEN.

“Sliding sash windows are a true design classic and developers recognise how they enhance and add value to their developments,” said JELD-WEN product manager Tony Pell.

“This development is the perfect demonstration of how timber windows and doors can be used to add value and create a distinctive feel to individual properties.”

Mr Pell added that the Tudor-style appearance of the windows complements the local architecture and helps the homes fit in to their surroundings.
