Timber construction methods will be in the spotlight at Scotland’s first Housing Expo in Inverness during August.

More than 50 house designs by over two dozen architectural practices will be showcased at the Inverness event.

Edinburgh Napier University’s Forest Products Research Unit is organising three afternoon seminars, co-promoted by the Forestry Commission Scotland and Wood for Good, to cover the carbon benefits of using timber frame, specification (August 5) and procurement of home grown timber (August 16), as well as current and pending legislative changes.

Speakers include Napier’s Professor Sean Smith and Dr Robert Hairstans, Chris Steel of RMP Acoustics, Malcolm Thompson of Deeside Timber Frame, and Jim Paterson of Alexanders Timber Design.

Seminar attendance is free but places can only be guaranteed by pre-booking. Contact pr.wilson@napier.ac.uk.
