The timber industry in the Netherlands recorded a 7% increase in output during July, figures from the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) have revealed.

Overall, the Dutch industrial sector recorded a 4% year-on-year increase in output during the month, with sales also increasing by 13% on 2006.

CBS has said that the increase in sales is linked to the growth in export sales, which went up by 14%, and higher prices from products.

The Dutch timber industry led the increase in output, with the petroleum and chemical sectors seeing a growth of 4%.
