Timber products will do battle with other materials for a prize in Interbuild‘s inaugural New Products Awards.
Black Millwork, of Burton upon Trent, has entered the Anderson Woodwright sliding sash window made of Fibrex – a composite material made of reclaimed pine wood fibre bonded with a thermoplastic polymer.
Machinery supplier JJ Smith & Co (Woodworking Machinery) Ltd, has submitted its angle master saw, which is designed to cut straight and angled timber frame panel components.
Other entries include an innovation by Ripley-based Manthorpe which allows timber joists to be built directly into blockwork, plus Bingley-based British Hardwoods’ new “Yorkshire” traditional range of oak flooring.
A total of 100 products will compete in the awards, with winners announced on April 26 during Interbuild. Construction Products Association chief executive Michael Ankers will head the panel of judges.
