A one-day training course on timber frame, which is aimed at designers, manufacturers, builders and project managers, will take to the road in the new year.

The A-Z of Timber Frame is being run by TRADA Technology Ltd through its specialist frameCHECK service.

It will encompass many aspects of timber frame, including market position, design, manufacture, erection, and differential movement and cladding.

The venues and dates for 2006 are: Dublin – March 14; Warrington – March 30; Gloucester – May 9; High Wycombe – May 25; Wakefield – July 12.

FrameCHECK is offering three further courses at its High Wycombe headquarters. Timber frame: manufacture and erection takes place on February 26; Everyone’s talking timber frame – but are they right? is scheduled for May 17; while Timber frame buildings: design and build will take place on June 12.

Dr Paul Newman, TRADA Technology’s services manager, said: “In our experience, training at all levels is fundamental to the success of timber frame. Our courses have proved both popular and effective and by taking A-Z on the road we are responding to market demand.”
