Yet another timber frame construction site has suffered a fire, with arson again suspected as the cause.

Firecrews were called to the site in Stanley, County Durham on Wednesday, where a fire was affecting a number of timber frame houses and offices under construction.

Residents in houses adjoining the site were evacuated as a precautionary measure.

The fire took crews about three hours to bring under control.

A number of fires at timber frame construction sites have occurred in the last two years.
