The benefits of self-building using timber frame were promoted at the Eastern Homebuilding & Renovating Show.
Joe Martoccia of the UK timber Frame Association (UKTFA) made a presentation to some 400 people at the Peterborough show’s “Choosing Your Construction Method” seminar.
The UKTFA’s presentation looked at the advantages of timber frame, including build speed, as well as practicalities such as warranties, mortgages and finding a plot.
Mr Martoccia said: “Choosing which building method to use is perhaps the biggest decision a self builder will make over the course of a project and the UKTFA aims to provide a comprehensive source of information on timber frame to allow them to make an informed choice.”
