The inaugural Timber Expo exhibition says that it has almost sold out all its stand space.

The show, which takes place at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry on September 27-28, had originally set itself a target of “over 100” exhibitors and today said that it had more than 125 booked and just 10 more available.

“And more companies are booking up daily,” said event director Loretta Sales.

Exhibitors are said to cover the “very latest timber solutions for applications in the built environment”. Products and materials on show will include glulam, timber frame, structural insulated panels (SIPs), cross-laminated timber, laminated veneer lumber, plus prefabricated construction systems, flooring, cladding, joinery, and timber protection and preservation treatments and materials.

TRADA, which is managing the event, is running its In Touch with Timber conference, targeting architects, engineers and other specifiers, at the show this year and the Wood Awards competition for use of timber in construction, interiors and furniture will hold its presentations there on September 27.

Other events will include a “Timber Buyers Forum” where suppliers will be able to sit down with potential customers from the contractor/developer and other sectors including Balfour Beatty, BAM Construct UK, Laing O’Rourke and Willmott Dixon.

The show hopes to attract 5,000 visitors, principally from the construction sector.
