Pinewood Structures and Finnforest have combined their expertise to provide low energy, fully-insulated structural panels for a new Tesco store in Crediton, Devon.
The panels, which comprise a Kerto LVL frame, Finnjoist studs, a breather membrane and an OSB skin, were manufactured at Pinewood’s factory to Finnforest’s design. Pinewood delivered and erected the panels and larch cladding in line with the build programme.
“The structural rigidity of the Finnjoist creates the perfect foil from which to build up an airtight and low energy insulated panel,” said Pinewood managing director Geoff Arnold.
“This is because the depth of the Finnjoist provides space to introduce additional insulation while the environmental certification of Finnforest’s timber underpins the robustness of the specification.”
The panels deliver a U-value of 0.20W/m²k.
