Wolseley’s Timber Centers network continues to expand with two more branches in Kent and Derbyshire.
There are now 29 outlets following the earlier acquisition of 13 RK Timber branches (TTJ July 21/28).
The new branches in Ashford and Alfreton are conversions of existing Wolseley Builder Centers. They carry timber for joiners, carpenters, builders, fencing contractors and garden landscape contractors. Both have on-site milling.
Wolseley would not disclose the opening costs.
David Hunter, managing director of Timber Center, said: ‘We are now a substantial national supplier in the timber sector and adding to our resources for customers both at local and national level.’
The company will not reveal targets, but says that it plans more Timber Centers around the country.
Besides acquiring the RK Timber outlets, it has opened branches in Hartlepool, Musselburgh, Daventry, Salisbury, Bedford and Manchester in the past 12 months.
