Lighthouse will be on display at the BRE‘s OFFSITE2007 exhibition and is the culmination of work between Kingspan Off-Site and architects Sheppard Robson, engineers Arup, landscape architects MacFarlane Wilder, and quanity surveyors Davis Langdon to deliver sustainable homes by the government’s 2016 deadline.

It is to be constructed by Chorus Group and will use structural insulated panels to to improve thermal insulation, as well as heat recovery technology, metering and monitoring equipment and a biomass boiler to secure a level six rating for the home.

The voluntary Code for Sustainable Homes went live on April 10 and technical guidance designed to ease compliance was published by Communities and Local Government last week.
