The Timber Trade Federation (TTF) and British Woodworking Federation (BWF) are to take part in a Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) one-day conference addressing environmental issues across the merchant sector.

The event, at the National Motorcycle Museum on May 22, will look at the business threats and opportunities arising from consumer demand and regulations governing environmentally-sound products.

The TTF and BWF are part of a host of trade associations taking part in the event in order to address all the trading interests of BMF members.

“Merchants are being asked more questions than ever before abut their environmental credentials,” said BMF managing director Chris Pateman.

“This conference is part of a package of responses BMF is making to the environmental pressures that merchants are encountering in the market place.”

The event will also include an exhibition of environmentally-friendly products from BMF supplier members, including fire doors from manufacturer Vicaima.
