One of the UK’s first complete composite facades has been installed at the Old Brewery in Pill near Bristol.

It features timber/aluminium composite windows and a timber framed aluminium clad curtain wall system, both supplied by AM Profiles Ltd.

Horth Architects, the company behind the renovation of the 200-year-old building, chose the composite facade in order to ensure the building had a low carbon footprint coupled with durability.

“I felt it necessary to create an open workspace but with the most environmentally friendly products available,” said John Horth, principal architect on the project.

“The choice of composite aluminium/timber products from AM Profiles ensured this criteria was upheld.”

Project manager Tom Walker added that the facade has given the building a “wow factor”.
