More than 15,000 people are expected to attend Ireland’s largest outdoor bioenergy event on June 20.
A Growing Opportunity for Energy and the Environment, to take place during Farmfest in County Galway, is being organised by Ireland’s National Council for Forest Research and Development (COFORD), Sustainable Energy Ireland (SEI) and the Agriculture and Food Development Authority (Teagasc).
The event will combine an indoor and outdoor bioenergy technology and product exhibition, workshops, field excursions and practical demonstrations.
Biomass is being seen as having the potential to meet up to 10% of Ireland’s energy needs by 2020, redirecting hundreds of millions of euros into the Irish economy and creating more than 4,000 new full-time jobs.
