Myanmar recorded a decrease in teak and hardwood timber exports for the financial year ending March 2002.

Teak exports totalled 283,707m3, a reduction of 8.1% on the previous year, while hardwood exports amounted to 404,407m3, 13.2% down.

Total export earnings from timber were US$280m, accounting for 10.9% of the country’s total earnings during the period.
