Bristol-based Taylor Maxwell Timber Ltd has spun off an importing subsidiary to develop hardwood sales.

Taylor Maxwell, which began handling hardwood in significant quantities last year, is launching the division with Global Hardwoods of Maryland, which will become the company’s primary hardwood trading partner.

Taylor Maxwell Hardwoods will import ash, oak, cherry, maple, black walnut and red and white oak, delivering from the Portbury Terminal within 48 hours. European oak and beech are also expected to be stocked at the terminal.

The business expects to import between 75-100m³ per month, targeting volume users who ‘require high quality’.
