London timber merchant T Brewer has signed up to distribute Simpson Strong-Tie’s loft extension system I-Loft.

The system, which comprises James Jones & Sons’ engineered JJI-Joists and Simpson’s I-joist connectors, is billed as a speedy way to build loft conversions.

T Brewer said I-Loft was a faster, cheaper and more efficient method to build loft conversions, with a fraction of the disruption on site, and no need for cranes.

I-Loft is built around the JES (Joist End Support) – a steel connector which allows the modification of timber I-joists to fit into the eaves of the roof. Simpson says they are strong enough to span a loft space without the need for a supporting steel girder.

T Brewer is also highlighting its array of products for use in loft conversions, including Quinn Therm insulation boards, Wedi Building Board, Monarfloor Deck 9 system, as well as more conventional products.
