Swedish state forester Sveaskog has reported net profits of SKr252m for the third quarter of 2010 (2009: SKr307m).

The company reported net sales of SKr1.47bn for the third quarter of 2010, compared to SKr1.21bn for the same quarter of 2009.

Year-to-date net sales were SKr5.12bn, compared to SKr4.38bn for the first nine months of 2009, during which it delivered 8,358m³ of forest resources, an increase of 7% from the same period last year.

Sales of timber and pulpwood increased by 6% and biomass by 13%.

“There has been a substantial improvement in the first half,” the company said.

“It is mainly due to good demand and we have been able to increase both sales volumes and prices for our products.”
