Brazilian plywood producer the Sudati Group has completed its first MDF plant.

The BRL80m factory in Santa Carina is designed to serve the domestic market and in particular the furniture manufacturing sector. Estimated annual volume is 220,000m³.

Sudati has existing plants in the state of Parana focused on plywood production for the export market, with an annual capacity of 500,000m³ – making it the largest Brazilian plywood manufacturer.

The new MDF plant will increase group pine log consumption from 650,000 tons to one million tones. Currently, a 2750x1850mm raw product is being made, but a light and extra light board will be produced in the near future.

“Our goal is to offer the best MDF produced in Brazil,” said a spokesperson.
