Door manufacturer STP Group’s main manufacturing site at New Mills, Derbyshire, has now closed and machinery will be auctioned off.
Administrators Ernst & Young said an agent would be appointed to organise an auction of equipment at the leasehold premises within the next four weeks.
The administrators made redundant a total of 92 staff from the site, the headquarters for the STP Group – one of the largest UK door manufacturers.
However, the STP name lives on through the two acquisitions made by JB Kind Ltd during October. The door distributor, based near Burton upon Trent, bought STP’s distribution arm, including warehouse facilities at Leeds and Bristol.
It also bought STP’s flush door factory in Normanton, West Yorkshire in a move which will help it reduce its dollar-based door imports.
The STP name is being retained at both businesses, which are operating as divisions of JB Kind.
