Indufor Oy of Finland is to buy Stora Enso‘s forestry consultancy business which comprises mainly long-term projects in tropical countries undertaken by Stora Enso Forest Consulting Oy Ltd.
The deal includes the rights to SimSilva, a forestry information and planning system developed jointly by Stora Enso Forest Consulting and GISnet Solutions Finland Oy.
Turnover of the projects being acquired by Indufor is about €5m.
Heikki Rissanen, senior vice-president business planning, Stora Enso Wood Supply Europe, said the divestment is in line with Stora Enso’s strategy of focusing on core competencies in wood supply, and is related to the recent establishment of the Wood Supply Europe division.
