Stora Enso has completed the sale of assets in its Arapoti business to Brazilian forestry company Arauco.

Arauco has taken full control of the Stora Enso Arapoti sawmill, purchased 80% of the shares in the business’s forest holdings and now owns a fifth of its coated paper mill, costing it a total of US$208m.

Stora Enso’s remaining holdings in the Arapoti outfit, based near São Paulo, equate to 6,000ha of forest and 164,000 tonnes of lightweight coated paper per year.
