A senior Scottish government minister visited the latest low carbon, low energy houses built by the Stewart Milne Group in East Lothian as part of the AIMC4 project.

Alex Neil, Scottish cabinet secretary for infrastucture and capital investment, viewed the recently completed group of detached homes supplied and erected by Stewart Milne Homes using its Sigma II Build System.

The houses in Prestonpans, East Lothian, were part of a £6.4m AIMC4 project devised by a consortium of industry leading developers and experts to research and deliver Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4 on a fabric first approach.

Alex Goodfellow, Stewart Milne’s group managing director for Timber Systems, said: “We are pleased to have had the opportunity to showcase the results of our AIMC4 involvement to the Scottish government.

“We hope we have provided food for thought by presenting a real alternative to low/zero carbon technologies, and a cost-effective solution to driving down greenhouse gas emissions, which will make a difference to public sector building in particular.”
