Stewart Milne Timber Systems (SMTS) is looking for sites for its planned Sigma Village.

The Sigma Village would be designed as mainstream housing according to SMTS, with different house styles, terraced and courtyard configurations and shared spaces and amenities making the site developer and buyer-friendly.

Business development manager Brett Townsend said that SMTS is looking at a number of sites for the planned development, although noted that there is a long way to go before a site is chosen.

“We’ve got a few sites on the radar but it’s early days yet,” said Mr Townsend. “Getting a site, gaining planning permission and other variables can change things.”

The Sigma house design is designed to achieve Level 5 of the Code for Sustainable Homes and was unveiled at Offsite 2007 as part of The Big Build exhibition, alongside Kingspan Off-site’s Lighthouse, Wilmott Dixon’s mini-school and timber-based buildings from ecoTECH and Osborne.
