The takeover gives Canadian-based Stella-Jones its second manufacturing site in the US and greater access to the American treated wood utility pole market.

“With this acquisition, Stella-Jones further enhances its position as a North American producer of pressure-treated wood products,” said Brian McManus, president and CEO of Stella-Jones Inc.

Assets acquired include the Baxter production plant located in Arlington, Washington, a pole peeling facility in Juliaetta, Idaho, plus inventories and accounts relating to the wood pole business. The Arlington facility will be Stella-Jones’ 10th treating plant.
