Mr Steenberg joined the company in 1972 and worked his way up from the shop floor. He successfully guided Masons’ purchasing department though one of its major periods of expansion – the supply of timber products to the newly emerging superstore era that started in the 1970s.
As head of operations he has travelled extensively, sourcing a wide range of timbers for one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of timber home improvement products operating within the DIY retail, merchant and manufacturing sectors.
"My four decades of experience with Masons has been both professionally challenging and rewarding. The timber trade has offered me a great career which I am most appreciative of and I’ve made some lifelong friends in the process," said Mr Steenberg.
