APA-The Engineered Wood Association has approved a new stamp to help some plywood producers struggling to meet requirements of the marine grade mark.

The stamp, Mariner Ply, falls between the AB exterior and AB marine grades. It is aimed at manufacturers who run lay-up lines which arguably do not give the same quality as spreader set-ups.

Mariner Ply, which allows larger knot sizes and core voids than marine grade, also helps reduce the risk of producers creating their own grades.
