The company, based in St Leonards on Sea, was one of 25 firms to be honoured at the Lloyds TSB/KPMG–organised awards, which is open to 50,000 privately-owned companies in Sussex.

“We are delighted to receive recognition of our investment and growth”, said Stamco finance director Nicholas Wilde.

Stamco was one of eight representatives of the building and construction sector in the top 25.

The company recently opened a £2m branch in Eastbourne. The 60,000ft2 store features an indoor garden display area, undercover timber storage and a trade “drive-thru”.

Stamco’s business covers three core areas – importing, manufacturing and wholesale; merchanting for trade and DIY customers; and a national wood floor business distributing the Finnish-made Karelia product.
