The Southern Pine Council (SPC) has been awarded US$406,000 to promote southern pine lumber exports worldwide.

The funding, provided through the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS), is in addition to some US$560,000 that SPC receives from a sister export promotion funding source operated by FAS.

“FAS funding is a vital part of our ongoing efforts to knock down southern pine trade barriers and to ensure that our competitors are playing fairly in the US and foreign markets,” said Jerry Hingle, SFPA’s international markets director.
